November is here….

November has arrived… and so has the holiday wine season. You all know about our wine tasting services we offer, along with our  fantastic Vin clubs. But do you know you can buy wine from us? We are literally your one stop wine shop! With a minimum of a 6 bottle purchase we will deliver your wines, to you, for free (within a 15 mile radius of Seattle, outside of the radius there will be a delivery fee). If they are gifts, we will even wrap them for you!

The cool thing about Vin Wine and Events is that we have an unpretentious outlook towards this big world of wines. We understand it can be daunting for a consumer. We want to make wine fun for you, which is what our tastings and Vin clubs are all about. We search for wines that tend to be hard to find, family run, small vineyard and offer an amazing value. We are a small, family run business ourselves, therefore we take pride in supporting other small businesses. With that, let our wine specialists do all the work and you  Discover. Sip. Savor…..

So, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, we have wines that will pair perfectly with your turkey dinner (or tofurkey, which ever you prefer)! Here are some of our recommendations (All are available for purchase). We have new wines being delivered daily, so keep an eye out on Facebook and Twitter. We will also be offering specials on wines this month and perhaps a special Thanksgiving wine tasting!!

Here are a few of our favorites to pair with the holidays!

Piva Crement de Bordeaux, Brut, France ($21.99) – You always need a good bottle of bubbles, and this is a delightful, sparkling wine out of Bordeaux. A tight, effervescent wine that is full of floral, grass and nutty aromas. This is a perfect aperitif or will also pair lovely with your selection of pies and desserts for afterwards! If you decide to go with an unconventional holiday meal, this wine also pairs extremely well with egg dishes and sushi.

2012 Lucien Albrecht Pinot Blanc, France ($13.99) 100% Pinot Blanc.  Bone dry and unoaked with a soft dry fruit finish. Lime zest coupled with hints of mineral. It is the wine to drink at home as an aperitif or with all-casual family meals.  A great seafood and Thanksgiving meal companion.

Cavu Cellars 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, Yakima Valley WA ($22.99). You won’t find another Sauvignon Blanc like this one. It has a touch of muscadelle de bordelaise that sets off the zingy finish with heavenly aromatics of apricot and pear and a delicious fruitiness. Light-medium bodied with some acid. Not only fantastic with turkey, but also is lovely with goat cheese, asparagus and fish dishes.

Locus 2013 Rose, Yakima Valley WA ($15.99).  A 50/50 blend of Mourvedre and Cinsaut, this rose is not just your summer wine. It is a wine to be enjoyed throughout the year. This is a bone dry wine, featuring a blend of strawberries and earth. A very well balanced wine and to also be enjoyed throughout your entire Thanksgiving meal. This is a rose your die hard red wine drinker will enjoy.

Paul Reitz Bourgone Hautes Cotes de Beaune, France ($24.99). 100% Pinot Noir. This is a charming, yet straightforward wine. A classic Burgundian; well balanced and priced very well. Not heavy or spicy. Will pair delightfully with beef. mushrooms, game, roasted turkey and veal.

** Vin Staff Pick Pelassa Barbera D’Alba 2009, Italy ($24.99). 100% Barbera. Ruby red in color and a fragrant nose with berry and vanilla. This is a full-bodied, well balanced, rounded wine. We like to call this wine classy. It has everything you are looking for in a Barbera. No wonder it was named Wine of the Year in 2010!! This is really one of our holiday favorites.
